Single vision
Look straight through the centre of almost any lens and things are sharp. The difference between designs is what happens when your eyes move. Pick a design to see how far the clear area reaches.
Nulux iDentity V+
Calculated point by point for your prescription and for how your frame sits: the angle, the distance from your eyes and the wrap. HOYA's Binocular Eye Model checks the two lenses work together as a pair.
Best for anyone who wants the sharpest vision in every direction, and larger frames.
Nulux TrueForm
An aspheric design with an even wider field of view than Hilux TrueForm, and a flatter front surface so the lens looks slimmer in the frame.
Best for prescriptions of −3.00 or +3.00 and above.
Hilux TrueForm
HOYA's proven spherical design, with TrueForm freeform technology calculating the lens for each prescription. Wider peripheral vision than a conventional lens.
Best for lower prescriptions, −3.00 or +3.00 and below.
Nulux and Hilux
Conventional single vision designs that give good peripheral vision. Nulux is aspheric, for a wider clear field and less magnification of the eyes.
Best for a low prescription on a tight budget, or a spare pair.
HOYA Sync III
Hours on a phone or laptop make your focusing muscles work hard, long before you need reading glasses. Sync III lenses keep your distance prescription for everyday wear and add a gentle 'boost zone' at the bottom, so close work takes less effort. Drag across the view to compare.
A street seen through a lens while reading a tablet. With a standard single vision lens the tablet at the bottom of the lens is harder to focus on; with Sync III the boost zone keeps it comfortable.

After two hours or more at a screen, my eyes feel…
Sync III 9
A +0.95 boost for minimal to moderate signs of eye strain.
Ultra Boost carries the boost power beyond the boost zone, for the closer working distance of a smartphone.
Your optometrist confirms the right boost zone at your appointment. Sync III lenses come with HOYA's three-month adaptation guarantee: if they don't suit you, HOYA replaces them with a suitable alternative.4
HOYA varifocals
Every varifocal blends far, intermediate and near vision into one lens, with some blur at the sides. In HOYA's simulations the white lines mark where that blur begins: the more open the view between them, the more of the lens is clear. Pick a design to compare.

Office lenses
Everyday varifocals give much of the lens to far vision. HOYA's office lenses hand it to the screen, the desk and the room around you instead. The shaded area shows how far each one keeps you in focus.

Individual
For varifocal wearers who constantly switch between near and the far side of the room. Tailored to your working conditions, with easy adaptation and better comfort. Choose Space for a dynamic office, Screen for computer work up to about 2 metres, or Close for precision hobbies and professions.
Premium

Advanced
An entry-level office lens with an intermediate area twice as wide as a conventional varifocal, for working at the computer, reading or moving around indoors. Room 400 for the office, up to 4 metres; Room 200 for computer work, up to 2 metres.
Standard
More reading range than ordinary reading glasses, for people who focus on one near task at a time, such as a book or a single device.
Office lenses are designed for near and intermediate tasks indoors. They are not for driving or sport, so we usually pair them with your everyday glasses.
HOYA EnRoute
The driving lens that takes you places. EnRoute is an everyday lens designed around the drive, cutting glare and reflections from oncoming traffic and streetlights. Choose day or night and a lens, then drag across the windscreen to compare with a standard lens.
A view through the windscreen with oncoming headlights. Through a standard lens the lights flare and the edges of the view blur; through EnRoute the glare is reduced, and EnRoute Pro adds more contrast and a wider clear view.

The higher the index, the more the material bends light, and the thinner the lens can be. Pick a prescription to see HOYA's measured thickness and weight for each material.

Enjoy the sun without the glare
Blocks the reflected glare from water, wet roads, snow and glass, for relaxed, contrast-rich vision outdoors. Grey, brown and grey-green.

HOYA Polarised
Light bouncing off shiny surfaces becomes polarised, which intensifies it into dazzling glare. A polarising filter blocks that horizontal glare while letting useful light through. HOYA Polarised lenses have a polarising efficiency of over 98%, with 100% UV-A and UV-B protection, and suit all ages, children included.

HOYA MiYOSMART · Optician Awards winner 2022
Short-sightedness is best managed early, to avoid long-term vision problems.2 MiYOSMART spectacle lenses were developed specifically for children: they correct short sight and slow its progression, in an easy, non-invasive way.

We fit MiYOSMART as part of our Myopia Control Clinic

The everyday lens for school and home, with HOYA's MiYOSMART anti-reflection coating.

Light-reactive: darkens in bright sunlight and returns to clear indoors, with full UV protection and the same myopia treatment zone.

Polarised sun lenses that cut glare and let children enjoy the outdoors, still with the myopia treatment zone.
Chameleon and Sunbird are not recommended for rimless or nylon-supra frames; we'll help you choose a frame that suits.
Good to know
Both are premium HOYA varifocals. iD MySelf is the most personalised, using your measured working distance and how your frame sits to give the widest fields of view and the easiest switching between devices. iD LifeStyle 4 comes in three design directions, Indoor, Urban and Outdoor, so the lens leans towards the distances you use most. We'll recommend one after talking through your day.
If you spend two hours or more a day on screens or close work and your eyes feel tired, achy or slow to refocus, Sync III may help. They look and wear like ordinary single vision lenses, with a gentle boost at the bottom of the lens. There are three strengths and an Ultra Boost option for smartphones; your optometrist will confirm which suits you.
It depends on your prescription, the material and the frame. As a guide, 1.60 suits prescriptions up to −5.00 or +5.00, 1.67 from −4.00 or +4.00 and up, and 1.74 is the thinnest for stronger prescriptions. A smaller, well-centred frame also makes lenses thinner. Try the thickness comparison above, then we'll check with your exact prescription.
No. WorkStyle, WorkSmart and SupeReader lenses are designed for near and intermediate tasks indoors and are not suitable for driving or sport. Most people wear them alongside their everyday glasses. For the car, look at EnRoute.
Most light-reactive lenses barely darken behind a windscreen, because the glass blocks much of the UV that triggers them. Sensity Dark and Sensity Shine are designed to darken behind a car window too. For night driving, the lenses are clear; if glare from headlights bothers you, EnRoute is made for that.
Lens design and accurate measuring make a real difference. Wider-field designs such as iD MySelf and iD LifeStyle 4 are easier to adapt to, and HOYA varifocals come with a three-month guarantee: if you can't get on with them, HOYA replaces them with a suitable alternative. Tell us what bothered you last time and we'll factor it into the lens, frame and fitting.
MiYOSMART is designed for children with short sight, and the earlier myopia is managed the better. We assess each child in our Myopia Control Clinic, recommend the right option, whether that is MiYOSMART or another treatment, and review progress regularly.
